"Therefore a husband leaves his father and mother and cleaves to his wife and they become one flesh." Genesis 2:24
Welcome to Pine Hill!
In all churches throughout the world, marriage is recognized as a good and nobel estate. God established marriage as the first of all institutions and God honors it so highly that it is protected by one of the Ten Commandments (the sixth) and is exalted with another (the fourth). From the very beginning, the Lord has blessed the union of two people and asks that by their love and covenant, that they might bring new life to the earth and thereby share in God's creation. Marriage, therefore, is not to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but honestly and openly, as you seek to begin a new life together.
The members and friends of Pine Hill extend to you both a warm welcome as you plan your wedding day ceremony with us. Yet, one thing is certain: as you plan with us, it will mean many hours of careful thought and preparation. This guide is a first step in our relationship together, as we prepare for this most significant moment in your lives. This information will answer and ask questions and perhaps remind you of some things you might otherwise have forgotten.
As well, by working together, we will make certain your wedding day is meaningful, wonderful, and a reflection of your individual lives intertwined in faith. I am hopeful that you have many ideas and thoughts to share regarding the service and details and I look forward to hearing all your ideas! Plan on sharing with me in two pre-marital sessions, and a planning session devoted to finalizing the wedding ceremony.
Blessings to you as you prepare to enter this new union. May the peace of God dwell in your hearts and in your home. May you have true friends to stand beside you, both in joy and in sorrow. May you be strong in grace and love toward one another, now and forever.
